Giving Back

Our world is in crisis. In times like these, the best we can do is help. I support various charities and non-profit organizations whenever possible. Here’s a few things I’m doing right now:

Face Masks for Workers:

Help me make more face masks for essential workers in Ohio.

I’ve donated more than 300 masks to healthcare, emergency and essential workers and those who could not afford them. To contribute financially to this effort, use the donate button below.

If you are a healthcare or emergency worker in need of a mask, or mask for your team, please contact me at to make a request. I will fill your request directly when possible, or help you a submit a request via a larger team of mask-makers.

Masks area also for sale to the general public at the price of PAY WHAT YOU CAN.

To purchase a mask, follow Riverlane Studios on Instagram or Facebook and watch for my next mask shop update. Mark your calendar with the date and time and login quickly to purchase.

Weekend Food for Good:

With every doodle pot purchased, I’m donating one bag of food to kids in need in Central Ohio! You can help buy purchasing a mug with your own drawing! Or, give directly to this awesome program!

Weekend Food for Good has provided more than 16,000 bags of food to kids in need. They’re currently serving students at Beatty Park, Trevitt and Merion Village Elementary Schools.

Weekend Food for Good is a program started by a dear friend of mine, Maggie Boggess, an art teacher at Columbus Public Schools. They provide bags of shelf-stable foods to young kids with food or housing insecurities.

Please consider making a contribution to this amazing program:

Purchase items from their wishlists, that will be sent directly to the coordinators.

Giving Tuesday

The Tuesday after Black Friday is known as “Giving Tuesday” – its a chance to focus your holiday cheer on some of the non-profit organizations and charities that need help. On Giving Tuesday, all Riverlane Studios sales are donated to a charity of my choice.

In 2019, I used the funds to purchase holiday gifts for children in the care of Franklin County Children’s Services. My husband and I shopped from specific lists for a few children, and purchased new toys, games and sporting equipment for FCCS to give to children in their care. It was so much fun, definitely the most rewarding thing we did throughout the holiday season.

2020 Giving Tuesday charity = TBD

Other Donations

Throughout the year, Riverlane Studios donates items to local organizations for raffle or silent auctions and makes other financial contributions. I’m not able to give to every organization that requests a donation, but I give to as many as I can. If I have to be selective, I choose organizations that are local to Columbus, Ohio and have a focus on education or the well-being of children, human rights, cancer research, and the arts. Here are a few organizations I’ve supported recently:

• Ronald McDonald House
• Available Light Theatre
• Capital Area Humane Society
• Centennial High School Theatre Department
• American Civil Liberties Union
• Black Lives Matter
• Columbus Freedom Fund
• Pelotonia
• She Has a Name
• Weekend Food for Good
• and more
