How I Started…

March Meet the Maker: Day 2

Well, I first put my hands on clay in a ceramics class at the Cultural Arts Center in Columbus. (I still take classes there every week.) I had been making for a little over a year when I posted THIS picture of holiday ornaments I had made for my family. A few people asked to buy them, so the following August I started taking custom orders for them. With my earnings from these ornaments I bought a used Brent pottery wheel. From there, I just kept making and selling and Riverlane Studios was born.
.
I’m so thankful to the friends who purchased those first ornaments. I had very few resources back then and it took me about 6 weeks to get the first batch to completion. But, without those purchases, I wouldn’t have my home studio or this business. #thankyou
